Susie Webb Ries is an artist and botanical illustrator from Nashville, Tennessee. She grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee in the foothills of the Smokies. 

Susie has traveled far and wide to attend watercolor workshops with masters in the field, exhibited her work at regional art shows, and led adult watercolor workshops. Inspired by Shirley Sherwood's collection of contemporary botanical art, she enrolled in the Society of Botanical Artists™ 27-month Distance Learning Course in Botanical Art. Upon completion she received a diploma with credit from the SBA course in London.

Susie's lifelong appreciation for the beauty of nature has deepened through the careful observation of plant detail and the meditative practices of drawing and painting that inform botanical illustration. 

She is a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists.
